Traffina Foundation provides Educational support to internally displaced children at restlement camps
You will not know the extent of damage insurgency has done to our Nation Nigeria until you find time to visit all the internally displaced camps in near by states including FCT. It has increased maternal and infant mortality in North East Nigeria, destroyed agriculture, left families devastated , increased crime rate and as well caused the international community to withdraw there support and development especially in affected states.
Have you ever asked about the situation of the children who were pulled out of schools to resettle with their parents outside base? sometimes when i interact with them i try to read their mind. What has future got in stock for this little folks…and some will always say to me ” Aunty Nomso i want to be a Doctor, some says Lawyer, Teacher, Nurse etc”. Behind they i cry and ask myself how i can help to make their dream come through.
Now the process is on, we have started teaching them in various camps. The uniforms we made has a deep meaning, we decided to choose black and green…”which means that even when life becomes so dark, another beautiful life came come from where you least expected”
I also got some volunteers who are helping to teach as well. Here is a picture of how we started.
We started by just sitting on bare floor, while teachers keep standing all day. we got our text books and other writing materials. We divided the classes to pre-nursery ,Nursery and Primary .
Now this is how far we have grown, We have about 150 pupils all internally displaced. In this camp “X” there are about 2,500 internally displaced persons from Chibok, Gwoza , Bama etc. Now see the transformation below
My husband gave me some money recently i decided it in getting them school uniforms, desk and additional books.
More pictures below:
This how far we have gone, we hope to keep their dreams alive till they return back to their homes.
God bless Nigeria #Godbless Traffina Foundation
